PARTNERS

Duende Dance Theater, Inc. is committed to
partnerships with other dance and theater companies in order to improve and
widen the dance audiences in Atlanta. Duende Dance Theater, Inc. has
produced several of the creative projects of Coriolis Dance Inc. including
Spare Dances, Falling, and Fly Paper Dances. The two
artistic directors, Amanda Exley Lower of Duende Dance Theater and Elizabeth
McCune Dishman of Coriolis Dance Inc., collaborated on a piece titled
Self Same, which was selected for the 2003 Modern Atlanta Dance
Festival. In November of the same year, they shared a concert titled
Pulse in the historic Georgia Avenue Church in East Atlanta. Another
fertile partnership has been with Fly By Theatre, a growing theatre company
in Atlanta. Fly By and Duende have launched successful education programs
for professionals and children and have also co-written and directed A
World of Silents, a journey through the field of silent film.
SPONSORS
Duende
Dance Theater, Inc. has benefited greatly from its contributors and
sponsors. Continued support from the Peachtree Presbyterian Church Fitness
Center has enabled Duende to have access to rehearsal space. The donation
of materials and labor costs of Universal Steel made the production of the
15 foot steel window possible for Making Light Out of Darkness. Wall
Crawler on DeKalb Avenue negotiated for the rental of their space and
storage of this set piece. Marketing and catering services have been
provided by 2 Push Pilates. Body Central of Buckhead has donated costumes.
David Waehner’s music production company continues to provide dubbing and
musical editing services.
We are extremely thankful to
the DeKalb Council of the Arts and the Bureau for Cultural Affairs of
Atlanta for financial grants and to the Coca-Cola Company and the Home Depot
for matching grant contributions.
